HARLEM GLOBETROTTERS AND COMIC RELIEF US JOIN FORCES, SURPASSING $41 MILLION RAISED FOR RED NOSE DAY IN 2023

June 28, 2023

The Harlem Globetrotters recently partnered with Comic Relief US to help raise funds for its ninth annual Red Nose Day. What is Red Nose Day you ask? This special campaign has raised more than $365 million to date, including $41 million just this year, in life-changing funds to break the cycle of intergenerational poverty and give all kids the opportunity to thrive and have a healthy future. This campaign has been a passion project for the entire Globetrotters’ team and staff, aligning with our 90+ year commitment to break down barriers, do acts of goodwill and bring a commitment to fans that goes beyond the game.

Millions of people around the country helped drive this powerful movement, including at 25 Harlem Globetrotter games this past April 2023. During these games, the Globetrotters brought the power of Red Nose Day fun and entertainment to thousands of fans, helping raise funds by inviting those in attendance to make a donation onsite to support the campaign. In addition, hundreds of Red Noses were handed out to audience members to raise awareness and support the campaign’s mission of people coming together to have fun, raise money and transform the lives of children living in underserved communities.

"Red Nose Day brings people together in a fun and powerful way," said Alison Moore, CEO of Comic Relief US. "It's a campaign like no other, serving as a galvanizing force by sparking moments of joy, levity, and fun to help make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people facing poverty."

Proceeds from Red Nose Day help Comic Relief US continue to make an impact on kids’ lives by further expanding their health equity commitments and providing funds to more than 50 organizations globally that help tackle the root causes of poverty. The Harlem Globetrotters are committed to creating a meaningful impact with our fans and communities both on and off the court and hope to continue a partnership with Comic Relief US and Red Nose Day.
