Scooter Christensen

Shane “Scooter” Christiansen’s mix of traditional basketball talent and flair for the audience made him one of the most popular Globetrotters during his playing days, and now makes him one of the key talent molders for the organization as a new era dawns. The Las Vegas native starred first in high school, where he led Bishop Gorman to the 1997 Nevada State title, and then at the University of Montana, who he led the Grizzlies to a Big Sky Conference title in 2002 and was one of only three players in school history to lead the team in assists three straight seasons. He remains today second on the school’s all-time assist list.

His uncanny dribbling ability and sense of team led him to the Globetrotters, as he displayed the right athletic ability as well as the flare for the dramatic…he has appeared on such popular TV shows as The Bachelorette, and GAC’s Top 20 Countdown…that fit the model for organizational success.  In addition to being a Guiness World Record holder, he is also an accomplished singer, coming from a long line of gospel singers in his family.

Now with his playing days a bright memory, Scooter has taken his leadership skills and knowledge to the sidelines, as he helps build and educate the latest rising stars in the fundamentals of basketball, the flair for excellence and the value of showmanship that only the Globetrotters can bring.
