Springs Patterson earned his nickname with the Harlem Globetrotters for his jaw-dropping leaping ability on the court. The Minneapolis native joins the Harlem Globetrotters as part of the team’s 2018 rookie class.

Patterson earned national recognition for his jumping ability after representing his school, Tabor College (Kan.), in the 2018 College Slam Dunk Competition at the Final Four where he went head-to-head with some of the best dunkers in the country. Patterson made it all the way to the semifinals of the competition where he was defeated by fellow teammate and rookie, Hops Pearce.

At Tabor College, he averaged 12.2 points per game his senior campaign, earned all-conference honors and led the Bluejays to the Elite Eight of the NAIA Division II Men’s Basketball Tournament.

Patterson is excited for the opportunity to join the Harlem Globetrotters.

“This is an opportunity that is bigger than me and I’m blessed to be able to touch the lives of others by representing this team. I’m looking forward to being able to have a positive impact on kids that look up to us,” he says.

If he could give aspiring young athletes any piece of advice, he’d tell them to follow their dream no matter how big they may seem.

“Don’t shy away from asking questions. Asking questions will help you continuously improve as an athlete and help you become the best you can be,” he says.
