Trotters Entertain at Book Expo America

Harlem Globetrotters stars Special K Daley and Tiny Sturgess were at Book Expo America at the Javits Center in New York City on June 6 to represent Guinness World Records.  The two Guinness World Record holders signed autographs and took pictures with fans, and conducted interviews throughout the day.

Tiny, the 7’8” Globetrotters rookie sensation, holds the Guinness World Record as the World’s Tallest Professional Basketball Player.  In February of 2010, Special K set a Guinness World Record for the longest recorded half-court hook shot ever made at 46'6".

Guinness World Records has over 50,000 records in their database, but Tiny’s record will be among the approximately 3,000 select records listed in the 2013 edition of the Guinness World Records book that is due out on Sept. 13, 2012.

Harlem Globetrotter Scooter Christensen holds two Guinness World Records of his own: for spinning a basketball on his head for 7.9 seconds and for spinning a basketball on his nose for 5.1 seconds.  And former Globetrotter Michael "Wild Thing" Wilson set a Guinness World Record in 2000 by dunking on a 12-foot hoop at Final Four Weekend.
