Special Needs Team Manager Earns Junior Phenom Award After Incredible Performance

Kevin Grow has down syndrome and has been the manager of the Bensalem High School basketball team for four years. His coach let him dress and what happened next shocked everyone.
UPDATE: Kevin 'KG3' Grow joins Wilt Chamberlain in the record books as the only players to join both the Phildadelphia 76ers and the Harlem Globetrotters. Full story HERE.

Kevin has been the manager of his high school basketball team since he was a freshman. His coach let him play his senior year in the second to last game of the season. He went on to have the game of his life hitting four out of five three point shots in under two minutes! Kevin's hard work, dedication to his teammates and the incredible performance he put on has earned him a Junior Phenom Award. Kevin will be our special guest and recognized at our 2014 #FansRule game in Philadelphia in March. He is the first Junior Phenom recipient to earn the award after being nominated through the official Junior Phenom Award Nomination page.

For inspiring people around the world and serving as a role model for all athletes, Kevin has what we call "Globetrotter Spirit".  Globetrotter Spirit includes traits and actions, like helping others, assisting in the community, demonstrating outstanding teamwork, sportsmanship and being a positive role model.

The Junior Phenom Awards are our way of saying thank you, and applauding those individuals who go above and beyond.  We want to acknowledge Kevin and thank him for setting such a great example. Kevin will be receiving the award as well as tickets for his family to see the Globetrotters live in Philadelphia. We hope his story inspires the Globetrotter spirit in you.
