Incredible Behind-the-Back Shot Earns "Trotter Tribute"

Marvey'o Otey of William Byrd High School receives Globetrotters' "Trotter Tribute" for incredible behind-the-back shot.

The world famous Harlem Globetrotters are honoring Marvey’o Otey of William Byrd High School in Vinton, Va., with a “Trotter Tribute,” in recognition of his spectacular behind-the-back shot in a recent home game.

Otey ran down an errant pass in the corner and flung it behind his back – Globetrotters-style – before he went out of bounds, and the ball amazingly found the net.

“We come to Roanoke in February, and we might want to recruit Marvey'o for our Trick Shot Challenge that will be part of every Globetrotters game,” said Globetrotters Showman Special K Daley. “Marvey’o’s shot was crazy enough, but he even added some more Globetrotter-like flair when he ran through the gym doors after flinging the ball behind his back.”

The Harlem Globetrotters will bring their 2014 “Fans Rule” World Tour to the Roanoke Civic Center in Roanoke, Va., Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, at 7:00 p.m.  The Trick Shot Challenge if one of five game-changing rules on which fans can vote to see in Globetrotters games at:
