Harlem Globetrotters Trio to Star on Food Network's "Trisha's Southern Kitchen" on Sept. 29

(ATLANTA, Sept. 26, 2018) – For the third time in the past eight months, members of the Harlem Globetrotters are collaborating with Grammy award-winning singer Trisha Yearwood.   Star players Hoops Green, Bull Bullard and Moose Weekes will be featured in the popular Food Network show, "Trisha's Southern Kitchen," on Saturday, Sept. 29 at 10:30 a.m., Eastern.

Hoops, Bull and Moose forged a relationship with Yearwood after meeting her prior to the Globetrotters annual game in Nashville this past January at Bridgestone Arena. The quartet talked hoops, cooking and similar experiences of live event touring.  They followed-up the initial meeting with a special invite from Yearwood to participate in a cooking demonstration at the popular BottleRock music festival in Napa, Calif., during Memorial Day Weekend.  BottleRock organizers paired chefs with celebrity talent to create one of the most unique food festival stages in the country.

Yearwood, a three-time New York Times bestselling cookbook author, is in her twelfth season of hosting the award-winning “Trisha’s Southern Kitchen.”  In the Sept. 29 episode, Yearwood and her friend Glenda welcome the Globetrotter trio for lunch in exchange for some famous Globetrotter trick lessons. A special concession-style menu is established for the show, including baked macaroni and cheese, grilled corn on a stick, smothered chicken waffle sandwiches and chocolate raspberry ice cream sandwiches.

The Globetrotters are readying for next month’s annual training camp in preparation for their 93rd consecutive season.   They tip-off their “Fan Powered” World Tour on Nov. 1. The Globetrotters will play in more than 250 North American markets, as well as 30 countries worldwide. Tickets are now available at harlemglobetrotters.com.
