Firefly Goes on 4-point Tear

Harlem Globetrotters sharpshooter Firefly Fisher sank 10 consecutive Get Crackin' 4-point Shots and 11 overall in the first quarter in the Globetrotters' 159-108 win over the Global Select on Jan. 5 at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Canada, establishing a new team record for points (44) and 4-pointers in a single quarter (11).   The 5'9" guard, who starred at Siena College, has made at least one 4-pointer in all 10 games he's played on the Globetrotters' current "You Write the Rules" World Tour.

Firefly is one of the Globetrotters' best shooters, making the most 4-point shots on the 2011 Tour (354) and in a game that year (16), both team records.  The Globetrotters, now in their 87th consecutive season of touring the world, introduced the 4-point shot to the game of basketball two years ago, a long range basket that is 35 feet from the hoop, nearly 12 feet beyond the NBA three-point arc.

The 4-point shot is just one of the rules on which fans can vote during the 2013 “You Write the Rules” World Tour - rules that could affect the final outcome of the game.
