Biography: Spark Clark will always be grateful to his mother for making the best of difficult circumstances. “My mother is my hero, because she was a single parent, and I never wanted for anything,” he says. It was that tough situation that resulted in Spark’s focus on basketball. Because of his mother’s hectic schedule, Spark had to choose between playing baseball and basketball as a kid.
He developed into an all-conference talent in high school, leading his team in scoring in both his junior and senior seasons. Spark went on to play at Tennessee Tech University, where he played 120 games for the Golden Eagles during a four-year career, earning All Ohio Valley Conference honors along the way. A team captain as a senior, Spark was awarded both the Sam Harley Lynn Award – voted on by both teammates and coaches and given to the player who is considered to make the greatest overall contributions to the team, on the floor and off – and the Golden Eagle Award, given by the coaches for sacrifice, hard work and dedication.
Eager to try new things, Spark has taken Taekwondo and also wishes to learn to write music and be a pianist.
A first-year Globetrotter, Spark is thankful for the opportunity to be “a part of history and a part of the most famous team in the world.”
