Too Tall's Story

When Too Tall Hall hits the floor for the Harlem Globetrotters on their 2012 World Tour, he will have the distinction of being the shortest player in team history, at 5-2. It’s no surprise that the sports figure that has influenced him the most is Earl Boykins, the 5-5 dynamo that fought the odds and made his way through the minor leagues to become an NBA success. Too Tall has taken his own unique path to become a member of the world’s most famous basketball team, as he spent the past year-and-a-half as a member of the rival Washington Generals.

Too Tall was introduced to the game of basketball at the age of nine by his uncle Ernest Hall, who played professionally overseas and in minor leagues in the U.S. Growing up, Too Tall played rec ball with NBA superstar Carmelo Anthony, and the two are still friends today. Too Tall is a fan of Carmelo’s team, the New York Knicks, as well as the Phoenix Suns.

He loves pizza (pepperoni is his favorite topping), as well as cookies and cream ice cream, but you will often find him snacking on apples.

Too Tall's mom has always been his role model; he gets his inner strength from her, and he always carries a picture of her in his duffel bag.

When asked whom it would be fun to trade places with for a day, Too Tall says, "The player on the other team that is guarding me. I wonder how it feels for someone to guard me."
