Check this out: when Hammer was 11, he got into an accident so bad that he broke both of his legs at the same time. He was in a wheelchair for a month, and the pain from the accident was so bad that he couldn't play any competitive sports for five years. That meant no high school basketball. He wasn't on a team again until he got to college. But he was so good, that just a few years later, he was a Globetrotter. A Globetrotter who jetskis and skydives in his spare time.
