Trotters Donate Clothing to Charity

The Phoenix-based Harlem Globetrotters, known worldwide as the Ambassadors of Goodwill™, brought that charitable spirit to the Phoenix Valley Chapter of HOPE worldwide.

For the second straight year, the team donated over 600 Harlem Globetrotters t-shirts for those in need – as well as 500 of the team’s souvenir game programs – during a carnival put on by the Phoenix Valley Chapter of HOPE worldwide, which took place at Children First Academy in Phoenix on Oct. 20, 2012.

“We love giving back to the communities that are so much a part of our fabric,” said Globetrotter Slick Willie Shaw, a Phoenix resident who signed autographs, took photos with kids and families, and entertained the crowd with the Globetrotters’ signature ball handling wizardry on Saturday.

HOPE worldwide is an international charity committed to bringing hope and changing lives; HOPE worldwide annually serves more than one million poor and needy people all over the world.  In the Phoenix Valley, HOPE worldwide provides support to Children First Academy, homeless families, and children in crisis.
