Top 12 Moments of 2012: Part 1

With New Year's only a few days away, we'd like to take some time to reflect on our favorite Globetrotter moments of 2012.  From the Championship Tour to our Summer Skills Clinics, 2012 was filled with Globetrotter highlights.  Here are moments 7-12.

12.  Bull on American Ninja Warrior

Bull Bullard's incredible athleticism was put on full display as he competed on the intense obstacle course competition show,"American Ninja Warrior".  Even without the formal training many contestants receive, Bull managed to advance to the semi finals in Las Vegas, a feat only 100 out of the thousands of contestants were able to accomplish.  Watch Bull's phenomenal performance to see how he proved, yet again, that the Harlem Globetrotters are some of the greatest athletes on the planet.

11.  Exhibition game in Brooklyn
We were welcomed to the tune of 15,000+ fantastic fans at our first game in the New York borough of Brooklyn.  We were also the first family entertainment event ever to play in the brand new Barclays Center.  The team played in special pink jerseys and used a pink basketball to signify a very special tour-long initiative that just may have earned it's very own spot on our top 12 countdown...
10.  First Ever Summer Skills Clinics
In the summer of 2012, we launched our Harlem Globetrotter Summer Skills Clinics.  We held summer clinics in 24 Hour Fitness locations where kids were coached by actual Globetrotter players experiencing skills, drills and thrills in 10 cities across the U.S. They were so popular that this year we had to expand and offer clinics in 18 cities around the country.  Visit our Summer Skills Clinic page for more information, our schedule and to register today!
9.  Junior Phenom Awards

We had three amazing kids win Junior Phenom Awards for demonstrating Globetrotter Spirit this year.  Globetrotter Spirit includes traits and actions, like helping others, assisting in the community, outstanding teamwork, sportsmanship and being a positive role model.  See what Jacob, Jared and Justin did to earn one of the highest honors given out by the Globetrotters.

8.  2012 White House Easter Egg Roll
In partnership with the National Park Foundation and the White House, we were able to participate in the 2012 White House Easter Egg Roll.  On the President's Court, we conducted drills and skills for kids, and afterwards, read on the Storytime Stage.  The Easter Egg Roll marked the 2nd straight year we had the opportunity to partner in such an amazing event.
7.  The 2013 Rookie Class
Our 2013 rookie class has a little bit of everything.  Record holders, College Slam Dunk contestants and the 10th and 11th females in Globetrotter history are all accounted for in this class.  After our annual training camp in New York came to an end, the official rookie class was announced, and they have been making an impact  on the court ever since.  Get to know more about B-Nice, T-Time, Moose, Prince and Mighty in our draft class column.

Can you guess what moments 1-6 will be?  Make sure to check back soon because we will reveal our top six in 2013!
