(PHOENIX, June 20, 2013) – Summer will officially arrive on June 21, and to celebrate, the world famous Harlem Globetrotters want your help in bringing more summer fun and healthy activity to more kids across the U.S.
Follow @Globies on Twitter, and on Friday, June 21, every Retweet of a Globetrotters Tweet puts $1 into a fund of up to $10,000 to send underprivileged kids to the Globetrotters’ Summer Skills Clinics – where real live Globetrotters players have been spreading smiles and coaching kids on what it takes to be a great basketball player and a great teammate both on and off the court.
“This summer, we want to open the opportunity to be coached and entertained by our inspiring Globetrotter stars to underprivileged kids,” said Angela Leaney, the Globetrotters’ executive vice president of brand marketing, “and we are asking our fans and Twitter followers to help make it happen.”
The 24-hour retweeting frenzy will run from 12:00 a.m. EDT to 11:59 p.m. EDT on Friday, June 21.
