Team part of the extravaganza for the second consecutive year
(PHOENIX, March 3, 2008) – For the second straight year, the World Famous Harlem Globetrotters were invited to join in one of the most unforgettable annual family celebrations. The Globetrotters were among the elite world athletes and celebrities at “ESPN The Weekend” at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., Feb. 29-March 2. Special K Daley, Scooter Christensen, Buckets Blakes, Ant Atkinson and Wun The Shot Versher appeared live on the popular morning program, “ESPN First Take” and on ESPNEWS on Friday, Feb. 29; and the Globetrotters displayed their phenomenal ball handling skills, signed autographs, and greeted fans during the daily parade and appearances at the ESPN Sports Zone and Sorcerer’s Hat Stage inside Disney’s Hollywood Studios throughout the weekend.
“ESPN The Weekend” not only features star athletes and entertainers, but also live telecasts of popular ESPN programs, interactive experiences, and beloved Disney characters in a one-of-a-kind experience for sports fans of all ages.
Celebrating their 82nd consecutive year of touring the world, the Harlem Globetrotters have played in 118 countries on six continents, entertaining over 125 million fans and crossing barriers between cultures, societies and people from all walks of life.
