Special K and the Globetrotters at the Panama Canal |
Also during their time in Panama, Special K and his teammates toured the famous Panama Canal, and Special K visited his childhood neighborhood (Juan Diaz, Pedregalito), elementary school (Instituto Episcopal San Cristobal) and Colon, where he also spent part of his childhood.

Celebrating his sixth season as a Harlem Globetrotter, Special K has also played for the Panama National Team for the better part of the last decade – facing such NBA superstars as Dirk Nowitzki and Pau Gasol – including at the 2006 FIBA World Basketball Championship. “When I’ve played with that ‘Panama’ across my chest, there is a great sense of pride,” says Special K.
Sponsored by Campbell Soup Company, Spalding, and America’s Best Contacts and Eyeglasses, the Original Harlem Globetrotters are in their 84th consecutive season of touring the world. The Globetrotters have played in 120 countries on six continents, entertaining over 130 million fans and breaking down barriers between cultures, societies and people from all walks of life. The Globetrotters are one of only six teams to be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
