THE AMAZING RACE recently captured the 2009 Emmy Award for Outstanding Reality Competition Program, an unprecedented seventh straight award in the category.  Host Phil Keoghan was nominated for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality Competition Program.

Contestants will travel one of the fastest courses ever assembled on the Race - spanning eight countries in just 21 days.  Teams competing for the $ 1 million prize will face the "Switchback," which sends Teams back to the site of one of the series' most infamous Roadblocks, as well as a surprise appearance by one of America's most beloved entertainers, a visit to the world's tallest building and a spicy twist on a Japanese game show.

Entering his 11th season in 2010, Lang is one of the team’s top ball handlers, while Lofton enters his fifth campaign and is one of the Globetrotters entertaining showmen.  Both played college basketball in Louisiana and have been close friends for over five years.

"This season we wanted to keep the Racers and our fans on their toes and make sure no one gets too comfortable," stated Bertram van Munster, Executive Producer and Co-Creator of THE AMAZING RACE.  "We're adding some new surprise elements including our quickest elimination ever as well as revisiting one of the most challenging Roadblocks our Teams have ever encountered during our past 15 seasons."

“We think the best show to exhibit the world famous Globetrotter entertainment, athleticism, and magic is the Emmy-winning AMAZING RACE,” said Globetrotter CEO Kurt Schneider. “Its blend of travel, drama and entertainment is perfect for us, and I have no doubt that Flight Time Lang and Big Easy Lofton will be ardent competitors and a perfect representation of the Harlem Globetrotters.”

The Globetrotters will tip-off their 84th consecutive season of touring the world in late December, playing in over 200 cities across North America during a four month span.  For the latest news and information about the Harlem Globetrotters, visit the team’s official Web site: www.harlemglobetrotters.com
