The holiday season has arrived and as children are eagerly waiting for holiday gifts, four Globetrotters – Dizzy, Buckets, Flip and TNT — will not only be awaiting a holiday present, but a birthday gift as well.
After Dizzy went to a Harlem Globetrotters game when he was 7, he aspired to be as talented as the Globetrotters and began playing basketball. Little did he know at the time that when he grew up, he would become a player for the team that had just amazed him. During his career at the College of New Jersey, Dizzy was a first team all-conference selection in both his junior and senior year, and he was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Player of the Year his senior season. The 6-foot-2 guard holds the distinction of scoring the first 4-point shot in basketball history, which was televised in an ESPN2 special on Dec. 5, 2012 on ESPN2. Dizzy goes from catching a pass on the court to catching a bass on his boat, going bass fishing three to four times a week when he’s off tour. His latest obsession is pretending to host an outdoor adventure show when recording his fishing trips. Although Dizzy’s home videos haven’t earned him a reality show yet— his video impersonations of other basketball superstars has earned him quite a large following on the Internet. One of the many things that Dizzy has enjoyed about being a Globetrotter is entertaining U.S. troops based overseas. Playing a game of basketball on an aircraft carrier in the Persian Gulf for the troops is the coolest thing he said he’s ever done.
