Stretch and Drink Water:
No one can play basketball if they’re not healthy. There are two things the Globetrotters always do before they play: stretch and drink liquids. Staying hydrated will keep you in shape while you play and workout while stretching will keep your muscles loose to make sure you don’t get hurt when you’re playing. While the concept is simple, there are some important details to keep in mind. The Harlem Globetrotters How-To series is designed to teach you those details.
Harlem Globetrotter Training Checklist
1. Water bottle: When you go to the playground, gym or just go to play with your friends make sure you have something to drink. Staying hydrated is important to staying healthy. If you have a water bottle or can bring a drink; do it! If not make sure you have something to drink before and after you play.2. Stretching: Before you start running around you need to make sure your muscles are loose in order to minimize your risk for injury. Make sure you stretch for a few minutes to warm up before any activity.
