How-To Spin the Ball
If you’ve ever seen the Harlem Globetrotters in action, you know that they are masters of spinning the ball on their fingers. They didn’t learn this trick overnight. With practice, you can get it spinning on your finger, and the more you practice; the longer you’ll be able to keep it spinning. If you don’t have a basketball with you at all times, don’t worry. We have a free game waiting for you in the App Store called Spin That Ball. Now you can practice 24/7! While the concept is simple, there are some important details to keep in mind. The Harlem Globetrotters How-To series is designed to teach you those details.
Harlem Globetrotter Training Drills Checklist
1. The throw: One of the most crucial steps to mastering spinning a ball on your finger is mastering the initial throw. Watch the video and practice spinning the ball as you throw it in the air. Once you’ve got the throw down, all you need to do is catch it on your finger and spin away.
2. Keep it alive: Once you’ve got the ball spinning on your finger, the next step is to keep it alive by swiping the ball to with your other hand to keep it spinning fast. If you can keep it spinning on your finger for more than 30 seconds, you’ve got it down.
